What do you usually do after collecting all the forage and hay from various places around the farm? Do you take some of it for cattle feed and leave the rest lying around in the open area without a reliable wrapper? From now on, you should pay more attention to profitable methods such as hay bale wrappers to store hay for a long period.

Why Waste Your Energy on Rotting Hay?
As much as 40 percent of the nutrients in hay are best used as animal feed. The rest can be used to make organic fertilizer because hay is rich in macronutrients such as Carbon, Potassium, and Silicate.
When looking for hay around the fields, farmers may find that the volume of hay is high enough to fill their trucks. You can’t just leave this excess hay outside the storage shed.
You need to protect the hay from the rain, and sun, and avoid it from coming in contact with the soil directly as it can destroy the good nutrients of this abundant hay. So, you can avoid hay spoilage by using a hay bale wrapper.
Advantages of Using Hay Bale Wrapper
Long-term storage is the key to the usefulness of the bale wrapper. Hay that is treated properly on arrival at the farm by being wrapped in a hay bale wrapper will be prevented from the moisture of at least less than 60 percent. Then, the fermentation can be increased. If this is the case, then the hay storage time will be longer than the hay that is not wrapped.
Oxygen Expulsion
Bacteria is an ever-present problem with the feed that farmers store. When you store hay in plastic wrap with consistent pressure, you are helping with oxygen removal. High oxygen levels are not good for the bale. So, you need tight wrapping without leaving any gaps for oxygen to enter which can potentially invite bacteria into the hay fermentation.
The denser the bale is wrapped, the better silage you will produce.
Reduced Feed Costs
The quality-assured hay in hay bale wrapper will help farmers get a feed that can be consumed in the long period. Feed costs will be cut that day as the abundant leftover hay is kept in perfect care.
You no longer need to spend money on truck fuel to look for feed outside the farm, organic fertilizer costs, and labor to process feed.
The First Step of Hay Cutting
Before applying the hay bale wrapper to the abundant hay that you will save, you can do proper cutting first. Prepare some hay that you will wrap together then cut the hay during the vegetative state. Always remember to the cut size is 4” so that a higher nitrate concentration can be maintained and help encourage the regrowth of the hay during fermentation.
If you cut the hay less than that size, then you have to replace the lost nutrients and clean up the debris.
Start Using the Hay Bale Wrapper Machine
Hay bale packing is easy using the right machine. Each day before you start the propeller, take the time to release the brakes on the mesh wrap feed reel. Then rearrange it to avoid wrapping the web around the rubber roller.
First, remove the plastic wrap from the roll of mesh wrap before loading. Next, swing the lower tension arm out and feed the roll onto it.
Second, lift the under tension arm and place the net wrapping roll in the operating position.
Third, pull the ends of the web wrap down from the loading forearms then bring them together, twist a few times, and push the twisted part between the rubber feeding rollers and steel rollers. While holding the twisted wrapper in place, crank the feed reel brake a few times to feed the wrapper until it fits. Make sure no more than 1 inch of hay bale wrapper extends beyond the roller.
Finally, cut off the excess mesh wrapping material. Then, close the packing lid, and you are ready to roll the hay.
So, are you ready to use the hay bale wrapper for great and long savings inside or outside your barn?
